Poems

In ancient history, people write poems to express their strong feelings. Nowadays, poems have become a kind of art. We have so many ways of expressing the same ideas. But the aim of writing poems never change. I personally do not really love poems, since I can not understand what the poetic means in most situations. But now, I have a whole new point of view on it.
A thousand readers, a thousand Harmlets. As the saying goes, I find it pretty wise. We can never trully understand what the poetic's real feelings when he or she was creating the piece of work. We are not the fish, so how can we know the fish's happiness? So what we really need is to add our own point of view to each piece and make it live again. It is the best when we think the poem is actuallt telling what is deep inside our hearts which is hard for us to tell. Maybe the poem just describes the quickly fade away feeling at a certain point of time. Maybe the poem reminds us of what our hearts went through when we were young, and it brings that moment to us once more. Maybe the poem creats a world we never imagined before which only exists in our wildest dreams. Anyway, just remember, poems are dead, but with our own personal experiences, they come back to life. It is pointless for us to try to understand the writer's thoughts. It is important for us to add our own thoughts to them.
Poems are different in different people's eyes. But that is the aim of poetics. That is the soul of poems.

  1. Yes, poem is a treasure given by our ancestor and we need to study as well as protect them. Although I do not want to be examined about poem, I love poem all the same. I think it explains thing precisely and concisely, and we can know something between the lines, which is fascinating.

  2. For my part, poems never die until we human beings lose our emotions and become clod-blooded.
