My Computer Is Back
Still remember several weeks ago, I could hardly do anything to my computer after an unprecedented crash. I knew in my heart, either the motherboard or the hard disk was destroyed. I could not help recall the first day when we were back to CELC, my precious Lenovo Y460N dropped onto the ground because the writing pad was not steady. I thought it may be the cause.
What else could I do? That night, I searched for someone who had sent their Lenovo computers to the service station for help. They all went to Funan. Ha, what a long way. I would not go there because I wanted my Y460N back as soon as possible. As a matter of fact, I noted down the address of the Lenovo Service Center, which is Megalink System, Bukit Timah Rd. I thought it should be quite near to Clementi MRT, but I was wrong. When I searched for the route on Google Maps, I found that it takes a bit more than half an hour to get there from Central Library. Nevertheless, I had to go, for my precious Lenovo Y460N.
On Monday after class, I, together with a friend who was willing to go with me, took the bus to Lenovo Service Center. It was indeed a long way. We changed bus in Ngee Ann Poly. It was quite fun to stay there because we were surprised to see that the students there discuss their recent examination answers in Chinese!
Finally, we reached Bukit Timah Shopping Center. Lenovo Service Center is on the top floor. Hence, we saw the whole building from inside. Most of the stores are maid agencies. My friend and I felt a bit depressed because they all seemed like human trafficking.
We waited for several minutes in the Service Center. The staffs there were quite warm-hearted, but they seemly were not so professional in computer. They did not know how to solve problems properly because they could not fix my computer and they moved my original hard disk and gave me a new one. The whole process took them a week! However, I would say I was lucky because I did not have to pay for the hard disk and system that I lately removed and reinstalled.
I paid 200 dollars deposit there to have my former hard disk back. I wanted my data. Luckily, I found a SM3scholar who has the connecting line for hard disk so I did not have to go and buy an external hard disk drive. The disk was totally broken as it was so slow in transforming data. It took me about two nights to have my important data back.
Now, my reborn Y460N is in good status. I hope my computer will not crash for the next two years.
Wish you a better use of your computer.
