My first project

A few weeks ago, our tutor informed us that we were supposed to accomplish a research project before the end of Bridging Course. Although it is an extraordinarily tough task for green hands, our group has made great strides in the last four weeks with the assistance of our mentor. Just as the old saying—it is first step that costs troublesome, we faced a great deal of difficulties after we started working on our project. Our group got lost in choosing a suitable topic. It was not that we could not come up with a novel idea hounding us, but that we were not capable of deciding which topic was the best. In some particular aspects, a part of topics had advantages over others, but vice versa. Fortunately, a week later, we made up our mind after consulting our mentor, who offered us a number of effective suggestions. However, it seemed that troubles would never disappear because we had a new problem just seconds after we selected our topic. To certain extent, this problem could be described as a language problem. Even though having study English for about eight years, we are unable to express us well in English when we need to design the questionnaire. Nevertheless, everyone in my group raised some ideas and we discussed with each other together. Finally, we finished our questionnaire. There is still a long way to go before we complete the research project. Apparently, a lot of difficulties are waiting for us, but after we overcame a series of problems, I have a faith that our group is able to carry out it well.

  1. Luowei, I really want to apologize again for always taking so long to respond to your blogs. Am glad you guys are rising up to the challenge of the project. It is a very valuable learning experience for you.

You mean that it's the first step that is troublesome, or that causes trouble? I agree, getting past the first step is always the greatest hurdle.
