Overall, different areas have different kind of food. For example, Guangdong food is a bit light, Sichuan food is very hot, Shanghai food is rather oily, and Hunan dishes are very spicy, having a strong and hot taste. The food in the north and south of China are very different. In the South of China people have rice everyday, sometimes they have it two or three times a day, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. They usually eat it with fish, meat and vegetables, but In the North of China, people eat a lot of noodles and steamed bread for three meals. Though the food is different everywhere, I think they are all delicious such as Hot Pot, dumpling and Spring roll.
Where everyone has their own plate of food, in China the dishes are placed on the table and everybody shares. Among friends, Chinese always order them food as enough as possible. People in china always use chopsticks to eat a meal. One of the most famous eating habits in china is that people eat good food for their breakfast, and they eat a lot in the noon for lunch and little for dinner.
Well, I am always missing the authentic hot pot in my hometown. I did not get used to the food in Singapore, but food is part of our life and culture, so I suppose we should learn how to cook to satisfy ourselves in Singapore

ReplyDeleteThere are so many delicacies in China make me terribly homesick. By the way, I consider that chinese eat more for dinner than breakfast and lunch, at least in my hometown it does.
