Last Saturday, we roommates went to NUS on open house for some consultations of our oncoming choosing faculty, which is quite a serious thing. Few weeks ago, I made up my mind to choose Science of Computing as a discipline, but now I am confused to make a decision as more and more choices come along. After the College Entrance Examination, there was a period of similar time for me to choose one major in Nanjing University. Compared to that experience, I have grown up a lot since I went abroad to study and that is the privilege. On the other hand, the situation becomes more complicated, for example, all the introductions are in English even the names of faculties and some of them we have not heard a little before. From my heart, I know that I am infatuated with updated objects like computer science. However, I am aware that I am not good at it, i.e. I am lack of a kind of systematic computer thinking. Only preference makes no sense. In the end, who creates the problem has to solve by himself no matter how tough it is. All above, I share some struggling minds in the form of blogger, wish you had a better situation than me. Here is an inspiring motto: “Be the change you want to see in the world”.

Chooose whatever you like and do not hesitate. Computer majors are not as complicated as you thought, nor are they easy. Follow you heart and you will be happy.
ReplyDeleteThe scholarship provides us with a privilege of choosing our majors again, but it also brings a lot of hadeaches. Maybe simply following our heart is a way out.
ReplyDeleteI really empathise you since I share the same feeling......I always feel I am between the hard place and the big stone.Taking a risk or doing something for a good job,I am confused.
ReplyDeleteHowever, luckily, we still have some time to consider it.Best for you !
Frankly speaking, I am trapping in a dilemma now. I think you are lucky enough knowing what you are interested in. If you really want it, talent is nothing important. I advise you to pursue it in case you regret one day.
ReplyDeleteyou won't regret if you follow your heart, come on!
ReplyDeleteAlways follow what your heart tells you. Interest is something which is more important than the salary or the popularity of majors.
