My Opinion on One News

These days, I saw a news about Gary Locke, and I have some opinion on it.

Here is the summary:

Us president Obama nominated Gary Locke as ambassador to china. Gary Locke is considered as Obama ‘s “trump card” to achieve his ambitious plan to double the export in 2015. Gary Locke’s combined background and his commercial expertise seem to make him. Because of his history and many other factors, both America and china pay much attention to this nomination.

In my opinion, for America, the combined background and his commercial expertise will contribute to the ambitious plan to double export in 2015. His leadership, experience and history will promote the relationship of china and us. For china, we Chinese are very glad to see a Chinese - American ambassador who makes it easier to get close to Chinese heart. But Gary Locke didn’t behave as close as we supposed. He can’t say Mandarin and he once said “I am proud of my ancestor, and I am proud of my Chinese heritage, but I am a 100% American.” I agree the point that some experts bring up that there is no need to pay much attention to a Chinese-America ambassador, and the major political strategy won’t be changed. So I think we should remember Gary Locke is on behalf of American government. But one thing I can’t deny is that the first Chinese - American china ambassador will make a big difference in the relationship between china and America.

  1. In my view, it's hard for us to make a biased judgement because it is connected to politics. As for Gary Locke, I have heard this name before, and I think he is a quite smart person. I hope that he can make a great contribution to the developments of both two countries.

  2. Well,we cannot deny that America is the strongest country in this world, and china is one the most quickly develop country. With the strategic compression from America to China, the development of China became harder and harder. So we need to face this phenomenon, and try to strenthen our country.

  3. Well, does this concern about polities? I think I cannot judge this more, because actually I'm a girl who doesn't pay attention to polities. So, just share one feeling: Seeing the person who has Chinese blood but cannot say Chinese is really weird.

  4. I just saw that a lot of people don't like politics, neither do I, but I think politics is a very interesting thing, I say interesting because each country says a different thing about a certain event, looking at their attitudes is a pleasure.

  5. Yizhen, there are a lot of American-born Chinese (ABCs) in the States who cannot speak a word of Mandarin!
