Copy handbook? Oh no!

Yesterday night, unexpectedly, all the sm3 and sm2 students living in Eton hall were punished to copy the boarder's handbook and submit it next Monday. This ridiculous affair spread out in the whole building like a burning fire. Some students connected with MOE quickly, some discussed it in room with fury. In my opinion, just like what Yueyue said in her oral report, we should have right to refuse to copy it.

For the students who broke the rules lately, it is no doubt that they had already been punished strictly. Though they have known what they did is wrong, they will notice it next time. However, they have not been given chance as well as time to prove their determinations, then, another punishment fell to them. Furthermore, other students may impute this punishment to them who might offend the rules for the first time.

For the students who did not break the rules, they were too innocent to be punished suddenly. Many of their first reactions would be opposing this decision at all costs. Afterwards, the hall's announcement in the future will turn them off; I do not think it is the atmosphere which aunties expect.

The reason why we have to copy the handbook is to be familiar to the rules in the handbook. Actually, we are not going to obey many irrational rules in the handbook all the time; nevertheless we copy and know them now. For instance, borrowing of money among boarders is strictly prohibited. All in all, this traditional and conventional method should be changed into a new flexible way which may be more acceptable.

By the way, the handbook indeed has some good subordinate clauses and some useful vocabularies, so it is not so bad. Ha-ha!

  1. I heard a senior say that our handbooks have already been used for 19 years, during which period no rules has been changed! No boy and girl relationship! Compulsory study time without mobiles or laptops! It is rediculous!I don't think it is fair for all of us to copy !
