Some Thoughts about Japan
Few days ago, there was a severe earthquake on the seafloor near Japan. The tsunami caused by it then hit the main territory of Japan island, which brought about extreme damage.
After the disaster, there emerged many heated conversation on the Internet. In China, however, some extreme voice came out. They claimed that the disaster was a punishment to Japan as it once invaded China but never confirmed the fixed truth.
Though I myself did not like Japan too much, I never held the view that this disaster was a punishment for the Japanese people and they deserved it. Actually, I believe, the disasters like this are the reason why Japan once invaded us. As everyone knows, Japan is an island country. It not only lacks natural resources, but also suffers from frequent earthquakes and tsunamis. Scientific research reveals that several years later, Japan is surely to be covered by sea. That why they wanted to explore other safe place to preserve their race and culture. So they had wars against China and many other east or south-east Asian countries. They had even established a permanent settlement in north-east China and some of the Japanese residents truly moved to this place. Luckily for us, the Chinese People's Liberation Army defeated Japanese army and drove them away.
I am not saying that we should forgive their fault totally. I just want to make everyone known that what they did is obviously understandable. They were selfish. So are we all. What will you do under that circumstance? I bet no one has another answer than to take space from the neighboring weak countries. Though I can understand their original intention, I am still angry and indignant about their later aim to wipe out the whole Chinese races. Moreover, their attitude about the war enraged all Chinese as they tried to describe the war to their next generation and other countries as revolutions for the local citizens.
To conclude, I would like to say that, I feel sorry for Japan about the existing and coming disasters; I can understand their intention to save themselves; I can even forgive them; but I will never forget the pain that they have brought us, and I will always be alert to Japan.
I think although the Japanese' initial intention to invade China is rational, their crimes were too horrific. Every time I saw the materials about the slaughter and raping, I feel shameful, to say nothing of forgiving. However, many Japanese at present are innocent about the previous crime. Moreover, all the human beings facing the enormous disaster are the same, just simple lives. So why not bless for them from your kind heart.

ReplyDeleteI hold the same opinion as you do, I do mourn for the dead who suffered the disaster, but I still cannot forgive them for what they have done to our Chinese people.
