Most of us are single child in our families. So, did you once dream of having a brother or sister? I believe almost every single child thought of this thing. Now, if you have a magic option to have another family member? Do you prefer younger/elder brother or younger/elder sister?
I have asked some of my friends, and the result is very interesting. Great majority girls like elder brother. So do me. Why? Obviously, a stronger brother can protect you better, no matter in physical or moral. Elder brother can give you a sense of security. Moreover, in the contrast of sisters, brothers will not compare girls’ things with you. Naturally, we will not envy with each other. Personally, more equal love will be assign to each of us. Therefore, elder brother is a great idea, isn’t it?
However, what make me a little surprised is that, boys also want to have elder sister. Certain boys said, elder sister just behaves like another mother, who can comfort you when you get hurt, give you warmth when you meet your winter, and give strong spirit power to you. Yes, it is great, too.
Nevertheless, I think boys should be responsible, have manliness, and desire to protect others. But afterwards, I feel my thought is narrow. Who don’t want to be protected? It shouldn’t be scolded more.
Well...I think all an elder brother can do can also be performed by a father...What's more, personally, I think providing a sense of security does not essentially requires a strong body. There are a lot of things beyond the corporal ones, correct?

I remember that once I heard that my neighbor took his dog out for runnig twice a day, I thought it was cool. however,he said it was quite boring and he was very tired. similarly, you think that having an elder brother is perfect, but you two may have many conflicts or quarrels in dayly life...though I fight a lot with my brother, I still think he is great, but not as perfect as you put
ReplyDeletehaha,you have known my answer. I think actually it is quite an interesting question. You can judge a person by his or her answer. For instance, the boy who wants a younger sister is absolutely mind-stronger than the one who prefers a elderly sister, and unfortunately,I am the latter.

I am one of the majority of the girls. An elder brother may take care of me and help me in many ways. It is sweet to be a younger sister. However, being single can make us more independent,and having a younger brother or sister will make us more considerate.

ReplyDeleteI have two elder sisters and I think that, if given a choice, I would still keep it that way. I cannot imagine having an elder brother. It would be difficult to live in his shadow if he was successful; and embarrassing if he was not. I rather enjoy being the youngest in the family too.
