Move To Eton

Having been in Singapore for nearly one month,I start to calm myself down and pay more attention on study.Everything goes well and it's quite joyous to study with our friends and tutors. However, something has changed recently.

Last Saturday we left Parry Hall which we had lived for three weeks and moved to Eton Hall.Eton is totally a new environment for us to adapt to which is surrounded by some big parks,so flourishing trees can been seen everywhere as well as mosquitos.Actually Eton Hall is far different from Parry Hall in regulations. We have to obey many rules here such as having compulsory study time from Sunday to Thursday, the ban on having meals with girls and so on.Although these rules seem to be a little bit strict, perhaps it's not bad if we obey them.To be frank,I really enjoy living here because the aunts and uncles are so kind and warm-hearted,especially the uncle who distributes the meals to us.Also, every room has its air conditioner and we don't need to worry about how to pass the hot summer any more.Generally Speaking,Eton Hall is a good hostel except the toilet.I want to complain about the damned toilet here on account of its really small size, which leads to consequence that the toilet is always crowded. What's worse, nearly 30 poor guys have to share the same toilet, including me.So the time I spent on waiting in a queue for toilet averages ten minutes every morning. It's really miserable for me to suffer this kind of torment every day.But maybe we can overcome this problem through getting used of it,so never mind.

In a word,Eton Hall is a nice hostel. With the comfortable hostel to live in,we can focus our attention on our school work completely.I wish all of us can adapt to the new environment well and enjoy the 6 months here.Yeah~

  1. All right,I constrainedly admit that Eton Hall is a very nice hostle.Whether or no,the uncles and aunts are warmer than the water in the toilets. The other thing I appreciate in Eton is-the distance between NUS and hostel.Ha~the problem turns back to the choice again.Choose the choice you can choose, adjust the things you can’t choose. If Eton Hall is an inevitable thing, what we should do is to accept it.As the famous saying, the world is not lack of beauty, just is lack of the eyes to discover. Everything existed is reasonable. Live cheerfully!

  2. Having air-conditioned rooms is quite the luxury! As for the rules enforced in your hostel, I am sure they are there for a reason. Otherwise, things might get a little chaotic with so many people living under the same roof.

  3. I think this hostel should change a name, it should not be called "Eton Hall", it should be called "Eton Hell"...I am almost eaten by mosquitos!!If I can rule the whole world one day, I will exterminate all the insects!

  4. I have already adapted to the new environment. Because both of these two halls are much better than the rooms in Shandong University. Especially, the air is so refreshed and clean. However, I hate so many mostiquitos... - -
