-I promise you that, I am here and I will be fine. Cross my heart.-
Before coming here, I always conceived of the life in Singapore . With a curious, unsettled and excited heart, all of us said goodbye to our families and our friends and arrived in a new and strange country. The Garden City, the Lion City , the Fine City ……these words described a picture of Singapore in everyone’s mind. Only less than one month has passed away, but I have already begun to love this city.
There are so many happy and unforgettable memories permeating the life’s wine cup like the honey water. We feel refreshed when breathing the pristine air and seeing the flourishing, beautiful plants; there are various delicious foods and marvelous cultures, which present us a modern and multi-cultural country; the hospitality from seniors and locals bring warmth and happy to each lonely heart. I feel so lucky when sitting outside and enjoying the cool wind and the bright moon.
As it comes to the night, insects are singing quietly and a kind of feeling always visits our minds lightly like a thread of light. The trees listen to the whispers calmly and feel sorry to those boys and girls who are missing the family. A new year has started, while we cannot celebrate the Spring Festival again with our relatives. However, I just want to tell them that I am missing them and everything is ok and I will be fine.
Cross the heart, it means I will take my promise sincerely and forever. In the last evening of 2010, facing the dark sky and the colorful, shining fireworks, I made a wish and ccross my heart. It must be a secret. Could you guess what the wish is?
