B4 Some Ideas of Money in Dramas
About the commerce, if commerce can help the delivery of the true, the good and the beautiful, the commerce is not bad. Jay Chou even said, he doesn’t reject commerce, because commerce can make his songs go around the world. Talk about the advertisements in arts, it’s sure that too much advertisements will lower the arts. But if the advertisement can reflect certain social phenomenon, why don’t we do that? And talk about the fast food culture, fast is the speed of pace of modern citizen. If the “fast” citizen can acquire the true, good and beautiful from fast food culture. It is great, isn’t it? Hegel said,” Exists already reasonable.” Every existing things has its reason to exist, so does drama.
All in all, thank you-the dramas which have been accompanying me for eight years.
I love you.
Just about my life
Though we are getting much more busy, I still enjoy reading books and watching films. These days I have been reading a book called the Kite runner. It is set in

Clannad: To find our initial dreams
- After coping with homework for three hours, I suddenly stroked by the feeling I had last May, in which I was still at high school, with the perspiration of study, striving for my own dream. Clannad was refreshed in my memory too. Our classmates were forever discussing this Japanese animation then, and I did not understand exactly why we were crazy with the forty-eight-series at that intense and special time. Maybe it was just because the protagonist was like us, a normal high school student, who represented our initial dreams we once had when we just enrolled in school.
- The story was about the protagonist, Okazaki Tomoya, who was a rascal of his school and always skip classes with his friends, run into a girl named Nagisa Furukawa on the long long path leading to the school. On the path which was full of Sakura, he accompanied her every day, and after a series of incidents, they finally got married and went with more stories. The plot was not like that of stereotype dramas. I even reckoned it as what really happened before. However, what touched us most is the principle behind it---having the courage to pursuing true love and treasuring everyone who you love or loves you.
- In high school, heavy burden of studying occupied my mind, thus accompanying with our relatives and friends seldom, if not never, presented in my schedule. Neither did I have the time and courage to start unknown journey of love. At present, looking back to the experience before, I gradually realize that maybe it is time for me to do something significant, but was forgotten for a long time. That is, sparing a little time every day, to attend the one I treasure and love.
An unpredictable punishment
At this Friday night, I was caught drinking alcohol in Eton Hall, and I was punished to write the Eton Hall Handbook two times. It made me feel so regret. That’s because I did not read the handbook carefully in advance, and I don’t know we cannot drink red wine in Eton Hall.
I told the auntie that red wine is good for our health, because it can soft our cardiovascular. However, she did not agree with me. Otherwise, red wine is alcohol which is absolutely forbidden in Eton Hall. We can drink how much we want outside, but we cannot drink it here.
I had no choice but copy the handbook.
I am not addicted to alcohol, and I think we should be allowed to drink it. Due to we are mature, and we are not addicted to alcohol, but it is our regulation that red wine is prohibited, we had no choice but observe it.
I suppose it is an unlucky experience for me, but it also taught me how to behave in Eton Hall. However, some regulations really make me feel uncomfortable, like we cannot cut our hair in the room and corridor, and girls’ and boys’ relationship should not exist. Most of the boarders have the same feeling as mine. Therefore, most of the regulations have no use for us. We always can find some way to avoid it.
I reckon this is not the goal for the regulation. We are adult now, and we have our conception of what we want to do and what we should do. We cannot be limited by the regulation if we know what we are doing is right.
Therefore, I wish the one who have made the regulations should consider more about our emotion and feeling.
from the films
Nearly all of us like watching films, but when asked about the advantages. How many of us can give a arguable answer? You may answer as, “To help me learn English, to improve my listening, to learn the cultures about the country.” But actually we may expect more than those- to learn some morals or some experience from the films. Looking back on the films that were produced by Chinese directors, you may find that the ridiculous films or “wu li tou” comedies have come back to Chinese screen again. This kind of film once was popular in China. Especially with the spread of the internet, a lot of netters can watch the films for free at home. But this time, the wave seems to be stronger than ever. I think it reflected the bad taste of the Chinese. They just want to have a laugh when watching the films, but finding that they have learned nothing and have some kind of regret. On the contrary, the American films emphasize the morals in the films. We should consider this serious problem carefully. I do not think the director should be to blame. In fact, they just made the films to suit the appetite of the consumers. We must change our taste and sense of value. We should waste time watching those films which we cannot get anything. Change your mind, the whole film industry will change.

We need memories
These days, I always had dreams when I was sleeping. They were all about the life when I was in China. I chatted with my parents and played with my friends, the dreams were all so clear that I even asked myself why I always had this kinds of dreams. Maybe I just missed the people in China or I was just this kind of people who was nostalgic. Sometimes I could even feel the sweet when the scenes we played together in the past called to my mind.
I believe that people need memories because memories are a kind of tool that can prove the experiences we had. It can keep the friendship firm even friends do not contact with each other for a long time. It can also encourage ourselves when we are in trouble or facing challenges. Even some memories which relate to the sorrow past things can caution us not to follow the same old disastrous road any more.
However, maybe there will be many people who think if a person always remind of his or her memories, then he or she will not cherish the time now and concentrate on the things we need to do. To some degree, I agree with this saying. So it is important for us to control ourselves. We need memories but shouldn't live in memories. When we are tired, thinking of memories is a good choice to relax ourselves. Regard them as a big treasure we owned, we need them.

Illusions of a perfect me in tomorrow
When I first reached Singapore, I would not satisfy with what I have already done, and go into raptures at the mention of the life in tomorrow, though tomorrow would be another day without content indeed. Regrets always came to me immediately I finished a speech or turn an essay in, for what I did was far from perfection. Therefore I believed tomorrow’ life was somehow superior to today’, and nothing can be compared, when I waked up next day, with ambition and enthusiasm, caught the sight of the rising sun glinting on the wall of dormitory, then had the confidence to make everything splendid. However, the fact was that I always struggled on my feet to wake up, and groomed myself in a quick and cursory way, so as to catch up with the last commuting bus.
Although the illusion was broken easily when a new day was coming, a new illusion would soon replace the old one. Due to this fact, I cannot envisage the consequence of my behavior, however terrible or excellent it was. Therefore I continually consulted for advice from my parents and friends. Maybe the illusion could provide me a positive attitude to face the challenge tomorrow to some extent, but it left me a side effect on not trusting myself in return.
Fortunately, after several days’ auto criticism, I realized that I can expect that tomorrow is better, while I cannot deny today is good as well. “Every day is special”--- this motto will never fade in my memory.
RESPECT DISABLED PEOPLE
I think everyone has his right to choose his happiness, even if he is a disabled person. They are more kindhearted than us, because they have experieced much more terrible things than us. We should respect them and be graceful for our perfect lives.
A Girl?
After investigating the soft handwriting on the paper, one of the guys (let me just call him A) drew the conclusion that it must belong to a girl, and his peers all agree with him. Inspired by the approval from his friends, A came up with an idea and put it into practice with out hesitation - he wrote down a telephone number on the paper. Moreover, he added “I am lonely” ahead of the number to avoid confusion. Driven by the “attribute of self-sacrificing”, A gave this precious opportunity to his friend; the number he wrote down belonged to another guy (let me call him B). Instead of being annoyed, B participated in the adventure willingly. Actually the guy did not look forward to any response, what they did was just the entertainment for themselves.
When I heard this part of the story, I didn’t though there would be any subsequence either, because few girls would respond to this kind of massage.
To my astonishment, maybe also to the guys’ astonishment, the “girl” called! (Just as what I said: few girls would respond, so the one who respond probably was not a girl.) What B heard was another guy’s voice. Image how embarrassed and disappointed B was during the conversation! Unable to face the reality, B even went to the class room right after the phone call to check if the one who sat there was the one made the call. However, nothing was changed.
All this was caused by the concept that a certain kind of handwriting could only belong to a female. The origin of this concept is the stereotype that females always have a meticulous nature, which would be reflected on their handwriting. It is true that some of the characteristic traits and certain abilities are more common in one gender, but it does not mean that we can label every individual of that gender with those “typical” features. Sometimes we tended to judge others by stereotypes; if they did not fit, we might consider them abnormal. This misconcept may lead to irritation for both sides.
Perhaps what we should do is suspending judgment, and therefore reducing misunderstanding. When one’s features and abilities are accepted, he or her could have a larger chance to take advantage of them.
The celebration of Bachelor’s Day
Last Monday-14th of February is known as Valentine’s Day. It is such a fascinating and romantic day for couples of valentines that even influences most of us. On the contrary, if Valentine’s Day exists, there must be another day for the celebration of being a single one. It is on 11th of November every year and the number of date includes four “1” which stands for bachelors. In the past, when I was in senior high school, my friends around me especially some boys enjoyed that day. Though it is a little bit weird, they were eager to have a girlfriend and still felt elated to celebrate that day. Faced with coming college entrance examination, we felt like squeezed sponge. At that night, we released our pressure by running around a playground until we were exhausted, shrieking under the starry sky and something else that was crazy during that period of time. Afterwards, I was admitted to Nanjing University, one of my roommates even stayed up all night on Bachelor’s day. Except that example, I have also heard other ways of celebration. It is quite fun and amusing for me to remind these previous memories. Someone says it will be your best treasure when you are old and I totally agree with him.

Blog 3
My previous blogs all wrote about computer and now I want to say something similar--- Comparations on Different Brands of Computer.
There are lots of brands of computer, I can just have a cursory introduction of some of them and these are just my own opinion.
First, the Thinkpad. Thinkpad used to belong to IBM and be purchased by Lenovo at 2005. Thinkpad use the technology of fingerprint identification and use gasbag to protect the laptop and other lots of technology belonging to the war industry. It’s stability and safety is unbeatable. So I think Thinkpad is the most suitable computer for business.
Second, the Acer. Acer is very popular and even is the No.1 brand in Sinapore from 2009-2010. The reason that Acer can be so popular is that it is nearly always the first one to use the latest CPU and GPU. For example, this year Acer is the first company to use the 2nd generation of Core CPU published at 5th January.
Third, the apple. Apple has four series of computers---macbook, macbook pro, macbook air and imac. Apple has its special appearance and its own software and OS (Operating System). Now, using macbook even become honourable. But because its OS is not compatible completely with some other software, you must give something up while using apple’s computer.
I hope my blog may have some help for you all.
What a terrible day!!!
However, misfortune always descends when things goes well. After test, my tragedy of today just started. I walked out of Lt 7 with my friend to have lunch but we missed our group. To me, a complete idiot on direction, I laid my trust on her to find the way to canteen. Then I followed her, entering a building ,taking a lift, walking down stairs. Guess what happened! We returned where we were just now. As we had no other choices, we collected our courage to bother a fellow student who was hitting books at that time. He told us the way.”We find our way after all!”W e comforted each other. But that was not the end. There was a fork of the road. Which way? My God! The right of choice came back to me, again. I chose a pathway where I saw people. Thank goodness! The canteen was in front of me.
The canteen adventure was just the prologue. What happened in the science centre really made me feel sick. Previously, I appreciated the tour itself which brought me much pleasure and inspired me a lot. What annoyed me was myself. I was really immersed in the exhibition, whereas , when I realized it was time to go I found that there was almost nobody around me. They all had gone. As I tried to get out, the door where I entered initially was locked. Then I asked an old man. He was so friendly that he show me the way out through the side door. After getting out, I saw my familiar rainbow bus, which suddenly liven me up. I smiled to the uncle and asked if I could get up. He smiled back and said” we will not go to Eton Hall.”This shocked me ,again. What was worse, I left my coat in the centre. So I was so lucky to revisit it ,totally vexed. Of course, as the result of the misfortune, I did not find it. Lost and desperate, I even did not know where I was. Tears filled up my eyes as I was easy to feel frightened in a totally strange place because of my poor sense of direction. Asking all the way, I finally found the MRT, the only place that could make me feel safe.Thank goodness, again! A half hour later, perturbedly, I got back to Eton Hall.It was also my first time to feel happy getting back to Eton.
It should have ended. However, as I was thinking so, just now my friend came to give me a tomato which she promised me not sour. I trusted her. Misery came one more time.It was much sourer than what I could bear. Oh, my teeth, my tongue! I need something sweet!

The Past Has Passed
Maybe some guys won't agree with me and regard me as a stupid flippant person. What I want to say is, I always think people who know a lot about history are amazing and mature, because it represents their having read a lot of books---which is great. I say bad on maths and history just because I hate them, haha.
My Rainy Days
The protagonist is a seventeen years old girl named Liyang, acted by Nozomi Sasaki,a Japanese supermodel.Liyang was a pretty and independent girl. But the agonising experience which happened at the age of 14 became the nightmare of her whole life. She was violated by her boyfriend. This has made her never trust others since then.In the school she bullies her classmates. After school she prostitutes herself.Living degenerately for 3 years, when she was 17, an encounter by mistake changed her life. She met Guanghui, a history teacher in the university. She fell in love with him at the first sight.Gradually, she learned how to love people. In order to stay with the teacher, she quitted the filthy job. They started the courtship which would change both of their lives. However, as time went by ,the countdown on Guanghui's desk came to zero quietly.Without saying goodbye, he vanisged in Liyang's life.Meanwhile,Liyang's best friend committed suicide because of Liyang's relationship with Guanghui.Later she fell down for all the suffering. When Guanghui's sister visited her in the hospital, Liyang got Guanghui's address.Regardless of everything ,she went to find Guanghui and gained the truth that he would diefor the brain abscess. Guanghui left her because he did not want to lose the memory where there was Liyang and refused the operation. As a rule of thumb,Liyang succeeded persuading him to accept the operation and Guanghui , of course, recovered without the memory.Luckily ,it is a happy ending. Guanghui reloved LIyang. They hugged each other in the pouring rain.
Actually, I have to acknowledge that it is a very old plot. But what impressed me most is the way the director presented to us. Plain but profound, the story started from the rainy day and ended in the rain.Just like love, it can not always be sweet .After the suffering, true love will be exposed to us, which is the most precious. Keep in mind that love can make a difference.

Thanks, my host family
At the first sight of my host family, to offer me a chance practicing my oral English, they said to me that I am supposed to communicate with them in English. At that moment, I was sure that they will do me a favor in English learning. Furthermore, they can help me in lots of other aspects.
On February, 5, my host family showed me around part of Singapore. It is my first time to travel the Singapore since I arrived there on December, 16th, 2012. In the morning, we went to the Flyer and had a ride on it, which is the only one in Singapore and the biggest one in the world. I was so excited to have a chance to experience it. Then, in the afternoon, we went to the Sentosa by cable car. About two hours past, my host family drove me to their home. And, we played some Singaporean games together, letting me know more about Singapore culture. It was a beautiful day for me. It was my host family who made me had such a joyous experience.
After that, I promised to myself that I must treasure my every second with my host family, not only because they can help me adjust to a new environment, but also they are one of my best friends in Singapore.
Speak Out Your Love
Have you ever said “I love you” to your parents who have been nurturing you for your whole life? I believe most of the answers will be “no”, embracing me. Actually, the Chinese culture might be the main reason, which results us in being timid to express our emotion directly. However, it also does not make sense if you say such words day in and day out.
I once saw a distinguished movie--“The Time Traveler’s Wife”, which touched lots and lots audiences. In the movie, the man who has a supernatural to travel to any time in his life, which does not depend on him, just spend transient time with her daughter who has the same supernatural as him. They travel in their own lives. Sometimes they don’t know what happened in reality, which they want to know; sometimes they know what will happen in the future, which they don’t want to know. After missing for many times, they met each other ultimately. Few “encounters” later, within the expectation, the man died. Fortunately, the man can travel to the future before he died, hence for his wife and daughter, they still have chance to see him at times. Whereby, during each precious and temporary meeting, they say "I love you" to each other hastily.
I have to say we are much more fortunate since we have enough time and enough chance to say the three words to our parents. Do not hesitate again; choose an appropriate time to capture their heart.

exB2 Defend for dramas
Most of the people only see your beautiful appearance, then you are defined as money worship and the snack culture in commerce. Actually,in my opinion, you just one of the varied and graceful art forms. Opera, movies, songs, printings, books…all of them are art. As long as this kinds of art is singing the praises of the true, the good and the beautiful,it can’t be classified into rubbish. It is just a phenomenon about different people likes different things. To the person who likes different from us,what we should do is not attacking but respecting.
I don’t deny that most of the contemporary dramas(actually many classical dramas also talk about these thing) are talking about the stories of “rich man and tragic lady”. But just like we can’t blame for our background that we’re poor,we can’t blame for the person whose family is very wealthy, either. Furthermore, all of the main character are doing their best to fight for the life and enjoy the life, aren’t they? These things are the true, the good and the beautiful, too!

Do what you really like
An important thing we have to face is that we have to choose our discipline after our bridging course; it’s utterly a big thing because it will affect our future drastically. I can clearly remember that my father once told me that he will support my discretionary choice of my major as long as I am interested in it. To be honest, I am quite grateful to my father for his support. I have once heard that some parents force their children to choose the disciplines their children do not really like, and the reason is that parents simply think students majoring in these specific disciplines such as economics, law etc. can make more money in the future regardless of their children’s aspiration. In the case, the outcome turns out to be awful. These children spent lots of their precious time on the disciplines they were not interested in, and apparently, they couldn’t achieve what their parents expected.
Although I haven’t decided exactly which major I want to choose, I am not miserable. I have 5 months to consider it, and what I need to do is just to follow my aspiration. Just do what you want to do, and you can be what you expect to be.
B3 Thanks,Dramas
There are a number of people surrounding me said, dramas are poison, dramas are harmful to you,and the audience of dramas is stupid…but if you never exist,I don’t know tolerant should be given to friends;I don’t know love should be given the people you loved without caring how much you pay;I don’t know…I really know there are many imperfect in real life, while the lives in dramas are as perfect and far as the communism. However,at least,I hope I can do for the imperfect in reality, even a little.
Sometimes,I encounter something unpleasant which I think it shouldn't like that. The better solutions from certain drama will come to my mind. Although I can’t change the situation, maybe I can handle the problem better when this kind of thing happen on me. Perhaps it is certain fantasy. So what? Who says fantasy is a bad thing. If there were dramas in Jay Chou’s childhood, and if he liked watching dramas,I hope he could have a little more fantasy, and maybe,at least ,now,he can believe more love stories living to old age in conjugal bliss.
History about mahjong
Every time we talk about Chinese culture, we will refer one thing, which is called mahjong.
Mahjong has a long history in China. Initially, it was named Madiao. This kind of game offers you a perception of waiting but exciting. Your mahjong in your hand may have some collocation, so you may need one another mahjong to win the game. Therefore, the most exciting time is coming which is waiting for the decisive mahjong. This game makes us keep exciting. We may cannot keep our passion for a long time work, but we can keep it because of mahjong.
With a long time history, some culture of China may diminish, but mahjong is always hot. What’s more? This game has developed to varieties such as Canton mahjong and Sichuan mahjong, and this game has been spread to the whole world.
Why do we call it mahjong? That’s because in ancient times, after wars, soldiers always felt very tired, mahjong was a good tool to make them exciting. Mah means take away the tiredness;Jong means a soldier, so mahjong means take away the soldiers’ tiredness.
It’s the main entertainment to kill our leisure time.
Some may say it’s gambling, but if we use it well, and don’t be addict to it, I think it will benefit us.

A Lovely Fox Fairy
Once upon a time, there was a dissolute bachelor. He was once accused of molesting and he was in jail for several days. After that, not a single female dared to even say hello to him. Yet he had not changed much, and he still wandered around to seek girls.
One day, it was near dusk. The sun had already dropped down and it was about to hide below the horizon, so the sunshine painted the cloud and ground with dark red. The bachelor, on his way to a friends’ invitation, did not pay much attention to this weird scene.
Suddenly, he caught sight of a figure. It was a young charming girl. She evidently was holding something and in a rush. Otherwise, she could have avoided running into this man. The bachelor would never give up a chance like this so he caught up her and started chitchatting. At this very moment, no one else was on the road.
He said, “Hello, beautiful. How are you? Why are you in such a hurry? Where are you heading? Why not go for a drink with me? ” The girl then recognized the bachelor yet it was too late. She wanted to go on her way, but the bachelor stood right in the middle of the road and blocked the way.
The girl obviously got anxious and angry. She did not run away. Instead, she stepped right in front of the bachelor and warned him, “You’d better move out of my way, otherwise, you will experience terror yourself. Let me tell you this, I’m not a human. I’m a fox fairy!”
The bachelor was scared at that moment. He merely got up the courage to respond to the so-called fox fairy, “I don’t believe in you. Such a pretty girl like you can never be a fox fairy. Don’t lie to me.” The girl was wearing a mysterious smile.
Right at this moment, a flash of lighting lit up the sky, together with a loud thunder. The bachelor was so nervous that he slipped down to the ground. He could not help crying out, “Oh my god! Oh my god!”
It was not long before everything came back to normal. The bachelor stood up and searched around for the girl. To his surprise, the girl was nowhere to be seen. He was still with hesitation, but he did not dare to go for the girl any more. He just hurried to his friends’ house.
Upon his arrival, the bachelor had been talking to the other guests about his adventure. When a waitress showed up, immediately the bachelor was frozen and he screamed out with fear, “It’s her! It’s her!” Then he ran out of the house apprehensively.
Everyone was confused. The host called the waitress and asked her the reason. The waitress told the others, “I’m that fox fairy. No, I mean, I didn’t want to talk to the man so I pretended to be a fox fairy. It happened to be a thunder so I rushed to hide behind the thatch pile. Luckily, I made him convinced that I was a fox fairy.” Everybody else laughed and praised her for her wisdom. After that, the beautiful girl was benevolently named the “FOX FAIRY”.
Follow their hearts
Young people are always being persuaded to conform. Moreover, sometimes we also persuade ourselves "to be down to the earth". We are convinced that no matter how wonderful the fantasy seems to be, we should focus on reality. Many people harbour the fear that if they take their hobby seriously their own life will suffer; they dare not to go too far.
Under the spot light, they were controlling their life. Though they were performing in a competition, I think they were performing for themselves. Since it was a contest, there would always been wins and losers. One of the competitors won four prices while some of them came back with “nothing”. However, as long as they were pursuing their dream and performing with confidence, the musicians have already broken the restrictions and followed the hearts.

The American Past
A gang of boys form a group doing bad things to make money.Thet arson, rob, grove almost everything they can imagine. No wonder they kill people, revenge politans, deceive to make a fortune greedily after they grow up.Time passes by quickly, when they become old,two of them are killed bythe cops for selling drugs, one of them, Max, escapes and becomes a secretary who's in trouble in the end. The hero, "noodles", is not engaged in what other guys do after his best friend Max's betray, who intends to kill himself by robbing the bank, but it fails. Max regrets for what he did to Noodles, since he owns all the fame and fortune that ought to have belonged to Noodles.35years passed, when Max invites David to his party and requests David to kill him for what he have done. Noodles refused.
The movie goes with the memory of old Noodles, and I watch the guys' tough childhood,I watch them dominate rivals by killing cruelly and deceiting, which bring them a big buck. I watch old David's slow memory and complex emotions.Their whole experience really cannot be described in one word or two. The movie lives up to its name indeed, because it reflects the period of time America witnessed via the guys' life.It touches me.

MOURNFUL OR HAPPY
I asked myself, but I felt so confused. In my heart, I can never tell the true feeling. One of my friends said, “The place where you are always long to leave is where many things that you will regard your life long time happened. As long as you leave there, the place will show out in your dream.” I asked another friend, “Mournful or happy?” I receive the reply, “Happy. Today and tomorrow I will always be. I hope you are the same.” But I don’t think “happy” or “mournful” can show our true feeling.
I miss my relatives and friends, although I can still talk to them and see them. I cannot smell what they smell, or give them hugs. On this point, I am a mournful person.
I am glad that I didn’t fall back. I begin to value the time that I am accompanied by my friends, that I call back to my home, that reply my friends short messages, that my dreams about my past. I treasure everyone’s feeling, especially my parents’ and my friends’. They believe that I am in good mood, but my feeling is conflicted. I was asked, “Whom will you spend with on Valentine’s Day?” I cannot answer. I have many friends, and surely there are some whom I like, but I cannot tell who the one I love is.
Now, I don’t care. My memories will fade in the end. I am looking forward to the coming of tomorrow. May my friends in Singapore be happy. I will always be with you when you need my help.

Valentine's Day

The life I am looking forward to
Yesterday, nine of the sm3 students and two local students went to a host family's home to have dinner together. After spending about an hour's time on the way to their family, finally we came to a villa which is near to the Parry Hall.
When we got into the room, there were still some soft music being played. The first feeling I had was that it is so comfortable to stay there. When all the students arrived, we played some games and then took some photos together. At about six o'clock, we had the dinner. After that, we chatted with each other for a long time--I even learn about that the form of the English test questions we have when we are in senior high school are similar to the test questions the local students have when they are in elementary school.
Though I just meet this host family for the first time, I can feel that they live happily. The man had ever been to almost all the places in China. He told us that this year he wanted to relax himself because he didn't want to give himself too much pressure. I think it is a possitive attitude towards life. I am also concerned that the happiest thing in the world may just be living in the way you want.
I still hope that there will be one day that I can live the life by the way I like. Every day, after dinner, I can go for a walk in a park. Every time I get home, I can play some soft music. When holiday comes, I can go to different kinds of countries to enjoy my holiday. Maybe this kind of cosy life will be fine for me at all. I also believe that everything will come true in the future.

To be an explorer
Last Friday, during the spring festival, we paid a visit to the Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve which is at the north-west part of the Singapore. It was a really exciting trip for me because I am a person who enjoys exploring the wide very much. In fact, this reserve is far away from the Eton Hall, so that we started our journey early, but we still did not arrive at it until noon. When we went along a trail into the forest to the entrance, some of us let out a scream at the sight of a small “crocodile”. Indeed, it could not be a crocodile and it was a lizard. As it known to us all, the lizard is a kind of animals which looks like a crocodile and is cold-blood. At that moment, it was taking a sunbath near a river bank. Next, we went more deeper into the reserve. We observed various plants along the both sides of the path and I cannot stop taking photos for remembrance as we passed by. From time to time, there were squirrels chasing each other on the trees which makes us surprised and elated. We even had a chance to watch a lizard eating fish across the road later that day. We took videos of this whole process. On my point of view, exploration is something related to the human instinct. However, we can develop the love of it by ourselves. I do like adventuring the mysterious things and wish I could travel around the world someday.

Playing Computer Games Has lots of Benefit
Hello, everyone. My first blog talked about how to take care of your computer. Today, I want to talk something similar----playing computer games has lots of benefit.
First of all, I need to introduce some kinds of major games----RPG (Role Playing Game 角色扮演类), FPS (First Personal Shooting Game 第一人称射击), MG (Music Game 音乐游戏).
First, RPG (Role Playing Game) such as Gujian. Good RPG is full of gut and your choice in the game may make the different result, so the way you dealing with problem and communicating with others will be practiced.
Second, FPS (First Personal Shooting Game) such as Counter Strike (反恐精英). The more you play SG, the faster you will react. And the most important is that cooperating with your teammates practices your strategy and ways to deal with problem.
Third, MG (Music Game) such as QQ音速. In my opinion, playing MG is one of the best ways to relax yourself and get rid of your bad mood. However, if you are free and have nothing to do, playing SG may be the best way to run out of your time and you can also improve your reaction while playing SG.
However, playing computer games can only be a kind of relax on your free time, don’t be addicted to it. In Chinese, it is 适度游戏益脑,沉迷游戏伤身。

May culture shock always exist
“Congratulations, you will be a citizen of the world!” The sentence haunted in my mind as if I had been smoothly survived several culture shocks, thus I was able to get used to the transformation of different culture. However, is there anything worth celebrating? I do not think so. Being a world citizen not only indicates that you have been flexible for instantly changeable environment, but also implies that you are no longer familiar with your own culture, in which we were born, bred, and shaped our identity. Distracting myself from my own culture, on my point of view, is grieved to some extent.
As students studying abroad, we would recall the marvelous memories about our hometown now and then. This is common phenomenon, for we are deeply impressed by our hometown, where our precious time was spent, perspiration of study was dropped, characters were shaped, friendships were established, and lifelong memories were covered. It is a place that is worth being remembered, and we have the duty to spread the culture of our motherland. However, once we reach too many countries, be accustomed to different cultures, I believe, we will fade the impression of our native land.
Culture shock can be excruciating painful indeed, but I take it as a sign of treasure our own culture. If I became a world citizen who would no more suffer from culture shock, I would be the one who is not belong to any country. Therefore, I would like to say “May culture shock always exist”.

Happy Chinese New Year!
I hope it is not so late to say “happy new year”.
The New Year’s holiday has just slipped away unconsciously. It means a lot to me since it is my first time to spend the Spring Festival without my family. However, frankly speaking, I really enjoyed myself.
Yizhen and I visited Gabriel’s family at New Year’s Eve which turned out to be a fascinating night. A little crowded but cordial, eight people were seated around the table, eating, chatting and laughing. Gabriel talked about his childhood and taught us Singlish, which won spells of laughter. After the dinner, we sang together with the pet dog Roger lying on the floor while Mark played the electronic piano. Then Auntie Ho shared her precious photos of the family with us and Gerlyn told us her love stories with Gabriel. Sweet and happy, we said farewell to the 2010.
On the second day of New Year, I called on Rachel and Jackson. Excited and curious, I baked the first cookie and cake in my life. Much to my delight, it tasted delicious even though the appearance was not that exquisite. When I was immersed in my sense of pride, another surprise shocked me. It was Jackson’s friend Wang Hao who spoke German fluently that made me fully aroused. In addition, he is studying medicine which was once my major. How amazing!
Missing my family though I was, friends here helped survive the loneliness and homesickness.
After Chinese New Year, happiness goes on

Two cultures
When I came Singapore, I find Singaporeans nearly do everything by the law, which is a little different form China. If you want to be successful in China, maybe you have to break some laws.
Now I think I’m so lucky to come to Singapore, because I think I can experience other culture, other language, other people and other scenery in Singapore.
Cross Cultural Communication-a visit during the spring festival
It’s the first time that I spend my spring festival far away from home, but I really feel at ease with seniors, friends and others during this period of time. Yesterday, Mrs Moh Keng invited us to pay a visit to her home. It was a quite different experience for me since I had never visited a local family before and I think we had a great time. When we gave the small present-six tangerines to her and her mother, they only took two and returned the left. Then I asked “Is it a kind of custom” and the answer was absolutely right. With her explanation, we knew that Singaporean only return part of gifts given by others during the spring festival. It is distinct from what we do in China. We usually accept all the presents and will give back something else next time or just refuse it. On my point of view, it is complex because we need to remember each one who gives us something and what he or she gives us. After learning about this interesting custom, we ate delicious cookies such as Love Letter and else I cannot figure out their name. Most of them were local food which I seldom see in China. Some were coconut base and some were made by Mrs Moh Keng herself. Afterwards we had a nice native lunch and played games in the afternoon. In conclusion, I felt very thrilled to have such a visit yesterday and I hope that I can have more chances like that in Singapore.
My bad habit
Every time before having a meal, I would like to stick my chopsticks into the bowl without any reason. However, my father always put my chopsticks on the table and shouted at me. I really did not know why I can’t do that, so I just did it again even though I would be punished.
One day, my father brought me to a formal banquet. From force of a habit, I inserted my chopsticks in the rice bowl again. Then, he glowered at me and a rageful expression in his face to appoint me to move the chopsticks away. I was reluctant to do what he wanted.
When we backed to home, he shouted at me and warmed that if I do it again, he may never bring me to someone else’s house. I cried loudly asking why I can’t. “it is a Chinese taboo because inserting chopsticks into the bowl shows someone in your family passes away”, he answered, ”Remember you can’t do that again or else I will be disappointed for you”.
After that experience , I pay close attention to our traditional customs which is integral part of our life.
Interesting Chinese Cultural Traditions
I am a complete idiot on Chinese tradition. However, to finish my paragraph on culture, I have to get a better knowledge of it.
The day before yesterday, I asked my friend for help and he gave me a lesson on Chinese cultural tradition which stimulated my interest in something that I thought insipid before.
Firstly, we talked about the table manners—the half –fish theory. When you are invited to have dinner in a Chinese family, it will be rude of you to eat the left side of fish firstly if one side has been eaten up. Because people in ancient China were poor and they usually treated the guests with one side of the fish. If you eat the left half, you will embarrass your host.
Then, it came to etiquettes. When you are talking to the senior or someone who you admire, it is polite of you to flex your knees to keep your sight line on the same level if you are taller than him. Besides, another well-known etiquette is saying goodbye with tea. When the host holds up his teacup and shows you the bottom of it, that means it is time for you to leave.
In addition, the most interesting and confusing custom I picked up from him is the colloquial expression—your life is so despicable. It sounds like abuse. However, the real meaning is totally different. It is widely used to praise the good health of the senior and may they live a long life in north China.
All above is just a corner of the whole huge iceberg called culture. It is fascinating, isn’t it?

eat wrongly
One day, the three of us took a walk along the river in Lyon(a city in France). To our surprise, we came across an outdoor market selling grocery just like what we have in China. Because I was thirty, my mom bought a melon from a vendor. She asked the vendor to cut the melon into several pieces, so I could eat it right away.
Sitting on the bench on the river bank, I had a good taste of the juicy melon. Everything was delightful: the old house along the river, the breeze, and sweet taste of fresh fruit. However, as a French lady ( at least she was white) noticed what I was doing, she seemed to be annoyed and quickly walked by. Later on, a few other passersby also had the similar reaction. An elder lady even passed by with a repulsed expression after a glimpse of me. It didn't feel right, but I was more confused than ashamed. My parents also noticed that, but neither of them figured out what was wrong. Nevertheless, I still finished the melon. After getting rid of the seeds and the skin, nothing had been left except the memory of its sweet taste.
I harboured the doubt that whether I ate wrongly for a couple of days until we visited my mother's friend who had been living in France for several years. When we mentioned the incident, mom's friend explained that it was because what I did was not appropriate in French manners. I broke three "rules" at the same time, while I was biting from a piece of melon on the street, taking rid of seeds. Firstly, French didn't eat on the street. Secondly, instead of taking a bite right from a big piece, they would cut it into smaller pieces which can be put in their mouth as a whole and then eat them one by one. Thirdly, spitting something out of one's mouth was considered to be rude, no matter it was seeds of a fruit or a piece of bone in the meat. French just swallowed everything they put in their mouth.
Although French men are famous of ignoring rules, they are pretty strict with the way they treat their food.
Goodbye, Torres

Goodbye, Torres
This week, Torres went to Chelsea.
It’s like a sudden thunder which astonished me much.
Due to I love Liverpool which used to be the best football club, I know you, and because of your excellent skill, you leave the big fans of Liverpool a sweet memory. However, the lack of good player in Liverpool makes you cannot get enough honors. Despite you have broken lots of records in Liverpool, but there is no championship you have gotten in the club.
You achieved everything in Spanish national team such as the European Cup in 2008, and the World Cup in 2010. I support Liverpool so I support you, I support you so I support Spanish national team.
The day we saw you lift the World Cup we cried and cheered for you, the day we heard that your wife gave birth to a small baby we felt elated for you, and we also feel proud because there is no gossip of you.
However, I will never forget that day, 31st, January, 2011, you went to Chelsea. This news brought a sudden sorrow to us, but we understand you. Every player chases for honor, so we wish you can gain adequate award in Chelsea, and we also wish you will never forget Liverpool which brings you up from a teenager to a mature world star.
Everything will be better
Day by day, after the fresh feeling passes over, we gradually find that we miss our parents and friends in our home country. Maybe we even regret that we chose this way to come overseas to study. However, things will always be better after we pass the roughest time. As our bodies being fitter for the new environment, our minds also adapt to the differences between the two cultures. We find we make many friends in the new country, we find the roommates are so kind to us, we find we are even closer to our dreams.
I am concerned that we are the fish out of water when we are in trouble, but when things get better, we are more like the fish being in the new kind of water, which is even better than the water before. No matter what happens, tomorrow is still another day. Enjoy our time, enjoy the lives in the new environment now.

B2 My Excellent CNY~!
1st Day!!!
Although we still had to have classes on the last day of 2010(lunar year),fortunately,we had a great party. Proudly, the food in the buffet was better than I thought.(haha~I’’m in the food team! Actually ,I’m comforting myself. But the food was really not bad, right?) Moreover,we played,er…fun games,(ok,maybe it’s not fun,but we were happy!)together.cool!wasn’t it?
After finishing our classroom party, yuyu and I went to the host family with some tangerines, cookies and chocolates(our tutor told us this show you don’t mean you just want the meal at the host house.). Our family are very nice, and 8 of us had a tasty hot-pot and BBQ. What amazed me is,his younger brother can play electronic piano even Jay Chou’s songs! So you can imagine how exciting I was.
With the feeling of didn’t want to leave,we left. However, the next thing for me was also awesome. I went to NTU where my schoolmate and seniors were having a party and watched the CCTV! But,but, but!!!!what made me feel remorse is that,I miss Jay Chou’s part!!!!!!!!!!! I can’t forgive myself!!!!well, fortunately,I one of my roommates take a video of Jay Chou’s part!Oh~I love her~!
All right, for avoiding my team member condemning me,I must decide to end the blog. It seems too long. But,my excellent CNY is going on!!!

A fish in water
My best friend-basketball
Playing basketball is a way of my giving vent to my anger and sorrow. Whenever some miserable things happen to me, I will call my friends and play basketball with them. Through this way, I can let all my unhappy things go. As is known to all, the college entrance examination is one of the most significant things in our life. When I knew that I failed completely in this test, I almost lost myself---- I immersed myself in playing computer game to forget it; I threw my books away to escape the fact; I locked myself in my room to avoid others’ asking my grades; However, it’s no use in relieving my pain. After approximately a month, I phoned my classmate to play basketball every day to rid myself from the frustration. Then, I found everything clear up day by day. I cheered up and ready to fight for my dream again. It is the basketball that save me from the setback.
I know I am not a good basketball player, but it doesn’t mean I cannot love this game. I will devote myself to this sport. It is not only a game for me, but also the best friend.
Culture discrepancy
For instance, the example we have learnt in the text book shows that different culture and customs can cause disastrous misunderstanding, if the person concerned know few about it. Also, I have heard that in some southeastern countries, people nod to mean their agreement while shake their head to show dissatisfaction. That’s inconceivable for us and if we don’t know it before we talk with these people, then what will happen? You can completely misconstrue his or her ideas, which may leads to bigger misinterpretation.
To sum up, in order to avoid unnecessary mistakes and misunderstanding, it’s really important for us to learn different culture and customs as the world is becoming smaller and smaller.

Blog 2
To some extent, it is conceivable that almost every juvenile in China is exposed to foreign cultures. For kids, it is always fascinating to watch Japanese animations after school. Different kinds of costume plays are held frequently in every part of China. For teenager and even young adults, the most romantic way to spend time with others is going to a cinema to enjoy a Hollywood film. As reported, the import and export of such intellectual property may be worth of billions of dollars.
Besides, the accessional products from these intellectual ones, like toys and clothes with Disney brand, can help the transnational corporations make a fortune from China. Sadly enough, a majority of the accessional products are all manufactured in Chinese factories, which means that we consume the resources, we buy the product, but the money all goes to the foreign corporations.
I think if the situation continues, it surely will do harm to our future generations. This is not only about the money. It also affects the mindsets of the young. From my perspective, I believe it is time for us to figure out a up-to-date solution to preserve our culture.
